You may have set the WiFi password a long time ago and you have forgotten it now In such a case, you can see your WiFi password again If you have some friends or relatives visiting and you want to share your WiFi password, you can look it us easily and let them know even if you have forgotten it 

How to find Wi-Fi password 


If you have gone to a friend's or relative's place and they are unable to share their WiFi password with you because they have forgotten it you can find out their password and retrieve it easily Whatever the reason, in this post we will learn how to find out our WiFi Password.



' First, let's see how to Find out the WiFi password on a PC or computer? I have used Windows 10 here but its almost the same method even if you use older versions of Windows This is my desktop. Down on the right side you see the W-Fi Connection, click on it Here you see a box.


I can see all the WiFi connections around me now This is my WiFi connection, and it says 'Connected' There are two ways to find out the WiFi Connection First, let's click on 'Network Settings' ... If we click here Now you see the Network settings... click on 'Network and Sharing Center' Now the 'Network and Sharing Center' is open You can see my WiFi connection 'AEKVIK' here .



There's another way to to get here You can click on 'Search' here on the bottom left corner and type Control Panel .


Now you see the Control panel on top, click on it then go to 'Network and Internet' then click on 'Network and Sharing Center' so we are at exactly the same point so these are the 2 ways - you can go from the WiFi icon or from search this is the path on top Let's go on Click on the WiFi connection - now you see a pop-up Here you can see the WiFi Status Here .

you can see the details - the SSID, the speed and the signal quality We don't need all this ...We need to go to the Wireless Properties... just click here .


Now there's a new pop-up. You see two tabs on the top. Click on 'Security' Within the Security settings, you see here is the 'Network Security Key' Here you see the password, that is masked. 


You can't actually see the password, just some dots Click on 'Show Characters' And here you can see the WiFi password at this time I have masked it and blurred it a bit but you can see the WiFi password right here from any computer So you see... it's very easy.


You can find it in minutes let me click on the 'OK' button Now let's see How to find out the WiFi password on a Mobile Here I am going to use a Samsung Galaxy S3, which is an Android Phone In the method I am going to show you, your phone needs to be rooted.



 If your phone is not rooted, this method will not work If you want to learn how to root a mobile phone, you can search for a video on YouTube If you want to know if your phone is rooted, you can install the app called 'Root Checker Basic' Let  me click here ... and ... here you see 'Verify Root Status' ... click on it Now you see the message 'Congratulations! Root access is properly installed on this device. 



This means my phone is rooted. If your phone is not rooted, you will not see this green tick mark here and you will not be able to use the method that follows Anyways... this was just a Root check The browser you will need is called 'Root Browser'... if you don't have it, you can install it from the Play Store.


 I have already installed it.. let me click on it and open it Now let's check this box and click on No Now you can see a lot of files, first we need to go to 'Data' This is 'Data' ... let's click on it If you notice on top... our path will come here in the Data folder, we need to find the folder called 'misc' This is the 'misc' folder, let's click on it and open it Now we are in the misc folder...let's go down to the folder called 'wifi' This is 'wifi' let's click on it and open it If you notice on top, you see data ... misc... wifi At the bottom you see wpa_supplicant.conf ... click on it and open it.


 Now, I am seeing all these options in the pop-up because I have installed these apps on my mobile. But you may not have all these apps installed on your phone. You may click here on the RB Text Editor and open this Let me click on it and open it And here you see all the information that relates to your WiFi connections All the details of all the WiFi connections you have connected to, are right here .



Here is my SSID AEKVIK and the password is here under psk if I scroll down, you can see All these are WiFi networks that I have connected to For example, this is an Airport network I connected to called T2LoungeA and below it, you can see the password Here is another Wifi connection called Delhi and here is the password .


If you logged into a hotel network, you can see the WiFi passwords For instance, this is the WiFi connection for my house in Delhi and this is the password So you can see all the save WiFi passwords for all the WiFi connections you have connected to, with this phone... in this file here called wpa_supplicant.conf So you saw here... how easy it is!
